WHAT IS THIS WEB SITE ALL ABOUT?
Well, having a liking for the bob hairstyle on women, especially the 'pageboy' style worn straight with a fringe ('bangs'), I wanted to find out just how many films/movies have been made featuring actresses wearing this classic super-sexy style. I am always pleased to see an attractive woman wearing her hair like this, and I think it increases her attractiveness immensely! Bob wigs can look pretty good too. The above photos are examples of what I mean. The first (b&w) one is Louise Brooks of course, and the others are models (maybe actresses, I'm not sure). Although all the above pics are of brunettes, I think this hairstyle looks good in almost any colour! I also like the center-part bob styles, such as the last two pics on the right, above.
This is my first website which was, at first, a straightforward listing of films/movies/TV series which have actresses with straight bob-style hair of lengths ranging from short (like Louise Brooks) to long, which would be shoulder-length. I will include photos of the relevant actresses if possible. I will continue to improve and expand this site. Also, I intend to keep the site 'clean', i.e. no nude or rude images will be included, nor any obvious porn movies which often include actresses having bob-style hair (usually wigs).
I have searched the Internet for sites featuring the Bob hairstyle and have found only a few good ones. Links to these are on the 'Bob Links' page.
This website will be an on-going project. As far as I know, most if not all of these films are available on video or DVD, and I have many of them myself.
To see the listings, please click one of the nav buttons in the left sidebar.
The first time I uploaded these pages to BT Internet I was amazed at the amount of hits I was getting, about 700 in the first two months! So it seems I am not the only bob hair admirer around. I don't know where or when I first started liking 'bobettes' more than other women, I just do. There's something powerfully alluring about it, wouldn't you say? Do women realise this, I wonder? I think it is the most enduring female hairstyle ever! I would like to say at this point that I also like the long straight (and also some medium-length) hairstyles on young fit women, as they can be very erotic, but I think I'll leave that to other websites to cover. There are many other hairstyle websites out there to find.
I am still getting an amazing amount of hits for such a relatively small website and I think this gives a good indication of the level of interest in bob-hair! I intend to continue adding to and developing this site further. There must be loads of films and TV series that have been made which include bob-haired actresses.
If anyone would like to comment on this site or suggest films or TV Series for inclusion then please email me. I welcome any feedback!
Yes!! I've finally managed to get to 100 bob-film entries (as of 7th Jan 2009).
Thanks to everyone who has shown genuine interest in my special interest and sent me suggestions and/or pics in the past. It is very gratifying to realise that so many people are interested in my little project.
Many thanks to Virgin.Net for hosting this site from July 2003 - March 2008!
I've decided to expand the scope of this site to include female singers or musicians with the bob hairstyle. You might say that the music and movie worlds are closely related anyway, both being entertainment mediums. Also, I've thought of an extra page to this site
which I've been meaning to include for a long time and that is female bob-haired
characters in PC games! Again, this is another entertainment medium, having
some things in common with movies.
LATEST NEWS!
I'm adding another category to my listings which I hereby officially coin a name for; 'Bobverts'! These are TV adverts which include women with a bob hairstyle.
There are a lot more bobs to be added yet, to the films and other listings, so check back regularly!
I'm adding another category, and that is 'TV Dramas'. These are usually 'one-off' and are neither
TV Series nor Films, and are not intended to be shown in cinemas.
